Model:
ATK-16 43K Pixels 16 Bit
Monochrome CCD Camera

Description
:
This camera is a
substantial step forward in both quality and performance. 16 bit ADC is now
standard, Peltier cooling with a delta T of approximately 25şC below
ambient, USB connection to the computer, and communications port for
external accessories (under development). Also, this model can work with 12V
direct power supply, either from a battery, or from a standard AC
transformer (optional). The ATK-16 can also be used as Autoguider, being
able to connect directly to a ST-4 compatible guide port. To minimize any
residual vibration, Atik Instruments is now using Magnetic Levitating fan on
this ccd camera, instead of the ball bearing used on the 8 bit line.
On the optical front, it features a very high quality BK7 optical window,
with very high transmission BBAR coatings.
The
camera’s external design is somewhat “unconventional”, with a peculiar
shape. The case material is aluminium, with an anodized colour scheme
identical to the famous Software Bisque Paramount ME equatorial
mount.

Model:
ATK-16IC

Description
:
Finally, a professional grade CCD camera that is accessible to
everyone.
The new
Atik 16IC is a camera that accepts no compromises, where quality
isn't just marketing "hype". We made all absolute efforts to give
you the possibility to use a camera that only professionals would
dream of only a few years ago. Now you can take astrophotographs of
many minutes, without having to worry about "temperature
compensated" dark frames that only add more noise to your images.
Why? Because no more dark frames are needed! The camera has such a
low thermal and readout noise that under most situations you don't
need to care about that at all. Just spend more time imaging the
heavens!
But other
advantages are present. Since the camera is equipped with a high
efficiency Thermoelectric cooling system, you can go where no
competition has gone before! Exposures of tens of minutes are within
your grasp, so you won't be limited in any way. Even if your current
telescope doesn't allow for that now, we made sure that once you
have one that's able to do it, the camera won't let you down.
Imaging the faintest whisps of nebulae with narrowband filters is
something you can do, not something you can only dream of doing with
other cameras. The Atik 16IC will be your astrophotography companion
for a long time.
More, and
to make sure you can increase your exposure lenght, we added an
autoguiding port (ST4 compatible), so you can use a simple webcam to
issue commands to your mount (currently requires additional
software).
With
16bit Analog to Digital converter, a high quality, high transmission
BK7 optical window, and very low vibration Magnetic Levitating fan,
nothing was left overlooked to make this your camera of choice. Even
power consumption was made the lowest possible, with only 550mA at
12VDC.
